Here is a brief history of Morden Islamic Community Centre:

Our Journey: Morden Islamic Community Centre (MICC) began humbly as an after-school Madrassah at 2a Crown Lane, initially consisting of 2 or 3 flats converted into a space for small-group teaching. MICC evolved to accommodate daily Fajr and Isha congregational prayers in Spring 2004, attracting a growing number of attendees. MICC operates under the registered charity expanded to meet broader community needs. The move to 116 London Road marked a significant step in creating a more inclusive space for Muslims in Morden and beyond.

Community Growth: As the community expanded, MICC became a vibrant hub, hosting Seerah and Aqeedah classes, monthly talks, and recreational activities. Despite its small setting, the center attracted high-profile speakers, leading to increased devotion among born-Muslims and conversions to Islam.

Relocation and Expansion: Outgrowing its premises, MICC sought a larger property at 116 London Road. With community support, the council granted planning permission for the relocation. Renovations began to create a more suitable space for the Muslim community.

Vision: The vision for the new premises extended beyond existing services, aiming to foster greater community understanding and cohesion. Despite challenges, MICC believes that collaboration with various communities will establish the centre as a beacon of goodness.
