Here is a brief history of Balham Mosque:

Welcome to Balham Mosque & Tooting Islamic Centre, a beacon of service and enlightenment, proudly serving the community since 1969. As a Masjid and Educational Centre, we stand as providers of comprehensive Islamic, educational, and social services dedicated to the Muslim community, while also welcoming the broader community to explore and understand Islam.

Key Features:

1. Educational Excellence: With a legacy spanning over five decades, our commitment to education shines through in the daily impact we make. We proudly cater to over 100 nursery students, nurturing young minds at our facility on 10 Gatton Road, SW17. The Gatton Primary School, a purpose-built institution with Voluntary Aided (VA) status, boasts a two-form entry for 420 primary students.

2. Community Engagement: Our dedication to community cohesion is exemplified by the 80 children from Gatton Primary School, recently recognized for their outstanding contributions by Ofsted. We believe in fostering an environment where education goes hand in hand with community involvement.

3. Spiritual Hub: Every Friday, we host a congregation of 2,000 Muslims, creating a vibrant and inclusive space for spiritual growth. What started as a makeshift place of worship has blossomed into two mosques, an educational trust, and the acquisition of playing fields — achievements that continue to unfold, all by the grace of Allah.

4. Alhamdulillah Impact: The numbers speak volumes — each day, Alhamdulillah, over a hundred people benefit from our services. From educational initiatives to spiritual gatherings, our impact resonates far beyond our walls.
